Overproduction of Laccase by Trametes versicolor and Pycnoporus sanguineus in Farnesol-Pineapple Waste Solid Fermentation

The effect of farnesol, a sesquiterpene alcohol, on the production laccases by Trametes versicolor and Pycnoporus sanguineus in pineapple waste solid-state fermentation was evaluated. Extracellular laccase reached maximum 77.88 ± 5.62 U/g (236% above control) farnesol-induced cultures T. 17th day, whereas similar P. culture, maximal activity 130.95 2.20 (159% increase) obtained day. A single 45 KDa produced both fungi under influence farnesol. These other data allow us to conclude that farnesol acted as an inducer same form fungi. Farnesol disfavored fungal growth increasing lag phase, but it also clearly improved oxidative state cultures. Contrary results previously submerged cultures, did not promote hyperbranching mycelia. This is first demonstration excellent cultivation. In quantitative terms, can be regarded starting point for developing industrial or at least pre-industrial procedures produce using P stimulus
